The adoption of the individual strategies "Local Action Plan for people with disabilities" is the main result of the activities of the Association of person with cerebral paralysis – Veles, during the implementation of the project "Strategy for people with disability – LAPPD".

The goal of the project is strengthening the influence of the civil society organizations which are working with people with disabilities in the creation of public policies.

There is no doubt that the process of the preparation of the strategic document wasn’t easy at all, it required a lot of effort, dedication and hard work, but the result is more than satisfying: adoption of the local action plans for people with disabilities in the Municipalities of Kavadarci, Gradsko and Chashka.

The Local Action Plan for the Municipality of Chashka was adopted at a session of the Council in November 2018,Municipality of Gradsko adopted the Local Action Plan in December 2018, and in January 2019 the Local Action Plan was adopted by the Municipality of Kavadarci as well.

The adoption of such strategies opens the possibility for direct and long-term cooperation between the people with disabilities, the civil society organizations who are working in their favor and the local government. Local action plans contain precisely defined priority areas for action of all the local actors and stakeholders and at the same time they give a clear picture of bringing the local activities towards the people with disabilities and in their advantage.

The project "Strategy for people with disability – LAPPD" is supported in the framework of the re-granting scheme of the project “CSOs for Making Local Democracy Work” implemented by ALDA, Association of financial Workers of Local Governments and public enterprises and the European Movement of the Republic of Macedonia financed by the European Union.
